VanStro cabinet doors and drawers are built with DTC six-way adjustable soft-close hinges and drawer slides. This hardware is designed to compensate for normal seasonal movement and minor installation variance. Most doors and drawers need no adjustment. This page explains when adjustment may be needed, what to check first, and when to bring in your dealer. It does not cover hinge or slide screw procedures. Those come from the hardware manufacturer’s instructions.
When adjustment may be needed
A door or drawer that was aligned correctly at installation can shift over the following weeks as the cabinet box settles and humidity levels change with the season. Signs that adjustment may help include a door that no longer sits flush with its neighbours, a visible gap that is uneven from top to bottom, or a drawer front that sits higher or lower than the drawers beside it. This is normal movement. The hinges and slides are made to correct it. It is not a cabinet defect.

What to check before adjusting anything
Before assuming hardware adjustment is needed, confirm the cabinet is level and properly secured to the wall. A door that looks misaligned can be the result of the cabinet box shifting, not the hinge or slide. Check that nothing inside the drawer or on an open door catches on an adjacent cabinet, appliance or countertop overhang. Interference from nearby fixtures can look like a hardware problem. If the cabinet was installed recently, allow a short settling period before adjusting anything. Minor movement in the first weeks is normal and often resolves on its own.
When to contact your dealer
If a door or drawer is misaligned beyond what a level check and a short settling period explain, or if you are not comfortable identifying which adjustment point is affecting the alignment, ask your local dealer. They can use the hardware maker’s instructions for your hinge or slide. This is also the safer path if a door feels loose, if a drawer no longer glides smoothly, or if you notice a screw that appears to be missing or stripped. Forcing an adjustment on damaged hardware can make the problem worse.
A note on your warranty
VanStro’s warranty covers hinges and drawer slides against defects in materials and workmanship for 12 months from the original purchase date, under normal residential use. It does not cover normal wear and tear or damage caused by improper adjustment. Installation and on-site adjustment are handled by your dealer, not VanStro. See the full warranty for details. If you are ever unsure whether an adjustment could affect your coverage, ask your dealer before proceeding rather than after. This page is general guidance only; for the full terms, refer to VanStro’s warranty document rather than this page.
